2010 World Cup Probabilities: England vs USA Gambling
Jun 16th, 2010 by admin

The most awaited soccer game in many years happened on Saturday as the United States confronted England in the World Cup 2010 betting in South Africa. It was the opening game for both teams in Group C and could be seen on ABC television. Even though the US and England have met in friendlies through the years, this is the 1st game that has counted for anything since the United States surprised England 1- in the 1950 World Cup. The U.S. is also supposed to progress, and England is supposed to win Group C.

England is a one-goal favorite with a sum of 2.5 at SBG Global.

The U.S. was actually given a chance to compete, however England was preferred in this game. In past years, the US team was pretty much overlooked and regarded as inferior but not this time. The U.S. conquered Spain last year and nearly upset Brazil, proving that they can compete with the best teams on earth. The United States has some very good competitors including Landon Donovan, Tim Howard and Clint Dempsey. This is thought to be a better US team than it was 4 years ago when the United States didn’t make it out of the group stage. The U.S. team was trying very hard not to get too high or too low for this game against England since the other 2 games against Slovenia and Algeria will most likely decide if they progress. Prior to the World Cup, the United States has played fine in friendlies, while England hasn’t. That may not matter much however since friendlies are really not a great indication of how teams will do in the World Cup.

England is one of the favorites to win the World Cup odds and they have one of the best scorers on earth in Wayne Rooney. They also have other amazing competitors like Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard and John Terry. England has an fantastic head coach in Fabio Capello and he will have his team ready. He has won a championship in almost 50 % of his 16 seasons as a coach. England will miss captain Rio Ferdinand however they have plenty of depth and should be fine.

The 3-way soccer betting line at SBG Global has England at -200, the United States at 570 and the Draw at 280.

Much like the other matches played on the opening day of the World Cup, this game also ended in a tie. This one was much more exciting in plenty of ways however. England scored their point in the beginning, in the 1st 4 minutes of play. The US’s Clint Dempsey made a shot at the goal that can happen to be blocked effortlessly about 40 minutes in, before the end of the 1st half. Nonetheless, England’s goaltender Robert Green misjudged the ball’s trajectory and let it get beyond him, providing the US their only point. That error definitely shouldn’t have happened, and it cost England the win on Saturday’s game. However right now both England and the US are still alive in the World Cup.

Four Major Underdogs in 2010 world cup Gambling
Jun 9th, 2010 by writer

There plenty of squads that are big underdogs in World Cup gambling but four really jump out.

Honduras, New Zealand and North Korea (Korea DPR) are each 500-1 in 2010 world cup odds. Algeria is 200-1 but you can toss them in as a substantial long shot because they may not get a point in Group C.

2010 world cup gambling posts Japan and South Korea with higher odds than Algeria but each of those squads at least has an opportunity to get a point. New Zealand, Honduras, North Korea and Algeria probably is not going to even get a point in the World Cup. North Korea is in serious trouble as they play in the toughest group. They’ll be fortunate to actually stay competitive in Group G. Brazil, Portugal and Ivory Coast are likely to rout them. The question is not if North Korea can get a point; the question could be whether they actually score a goal. North Korea looks the weakest from all the squads in the 2010 World Cup.

Honduras looks to have pretty little chance in their group. They must play Spain, Chile and Switzerland in Group H. They are less likely to get anything vs Spain or Chile so it comes down to the match vs Switzerland to see if they can get a point. It is only the 2nd World Cup in history for Honduras. The team played a friendly vs Belarus a short while ago and the entire team looked weak in a 2-2 draw.

At least New Zealand will play in a group that looks to be low scoring, although they seem to be in over their head in 2010 world cup odds. The Italian team is not full of effective scorers, although Group F favors Italy. Paraguay won’t score a huge amount of goals and this is Slovakia’s first World Cup. New Zealand is not pretty good nonetheless they could get lucky and squeeze out a goal in Group F and if they can, they could decide who moves forward.

Algeria plays in a tough group with England and the United States nonetheless they are at least a team with an opportunity. England is one particular of the favorites in World Cup gambling and the United States has been tough but Algeria can at least be competitive vs both squads. It is pretty unlikely they will advance from Group C nonetheless they could steal a point or 2.
The FIFA World Cup for 2010 will begin on June 11th and is expected to run through July 11th. This is the first time ever that the World Cup has been hosted by an African nation. South Africa beat out Morocco and Egypt for the honor. The FIFA World Cup is held once every four years and features 32 teams from different nations competing against each other for the championship in football. This event has historically been dominated by Brazil, which holds a record five titles and is the only team to have played in every tournament. The current champion is Italy, which has won the title four times total. The next World Cup will be held in 2014 in Brazil.

Ivory Coast Takes a Hit in World Cup Gambling with Drogba Injury
Jun 9th, 2010 by writer

On Friday, when star striker Didier Drogba broke his arm in a warm-up competition vs Japan, any chance Ivory Coast had of making a significant run in World Cup gambling could have come to a halt.

Drogba is expected to miss at a minimum some of the World Cup and the probability of Ivory Coast even making it out of the group stage in World Cup odds are now doubtful.

Despite the fact that Ivory Coast is in a hard group with Brazil and Portugal, they are posted by World Cup gambling odds as a clear contender. It is not likely that Ivory Coast will have sufficient scoring to reach the round of sixteen without Drogba in the lineup. Drogba was hurt in Ivory Coast’s 2- victory against Japan. He was injured after having a high challenge by Japan’s Marcus Tulio Tanaka. Though their coach Sven-Goran Eriksson was not completely ruling Drogba out of competition, the team said that Drogba fractured his right arm. There’s a possibility Drogba may still play since he had surgery over the past weekend.

Drogba got 29 goals this season for Chelsea and Ivory Coast was deemed a menace in Group G considering of his scoring ability. Ivory Coast opens up play vs Portugal on June 15th and without Drogba’s scoring it seems not likely they will be able to win that competition. The World Cup odds on Ivory Coast had been dropping and were as low as 23-1 to win it all. Look for those odds to rise now that Drogba is out. Also look for the odds on the Ivory Coast matches to be adjusted a little bit. Portugal was already the favorite in the opening competition vs Ivory Coast, with the news that Drogba is out of the competition, those World Cup gambling odds may go up a bit.

Friday was not an excellent day for star players as England’s captain Rio Ferdinand was hurt in the course of training in Rustenburg, South Africa. Italy learned that midfielder Andrea Pirlo sustained an hurt calf on Friday as well, and his status is doubtful. U.S. striker Jozy Altidore sustained a sprained right ankle and his standing is up in the air and even Brazil goalie Julio Cesar has been dealing with a back injury. The World Cup has already lost a number of high profile players. In addition to Drogba, other players who are hurt and out of the 2010 world cup include England’s David Beckham, Germany’s Michael Ballack and Ghana’s Michael Essien.

The FIFA World Cup will begin on June 11th and is expected to run through July 11th. This is the first time ever that the World Cup has been hosted by an African nation. South Africa defeated Morocco and Egypt for the privilege. The FIFA World Cup features 32 teams from different nations playing vs each other for the tournament in football and is held one time every 4 years. Brazil, which holds a record five championships and is the only team to have played in every tournament, has in the past dominated this event. Italy is the current champ. They have won the title 4 times total. The following World Cup will be held in 2014 in Brazil.

World Cup in 2010 Wagering Probabilities Preview
Jun 9th, 2010 by tang

On Friday, June 11th the host nation of the world cup in 2010 South Africa takes on Mexico in the kickoff of World Cup odds this year. Spain and Brazil are the 2 faves among the total of 32 teams that will be competing for the World Cup title. There have been a total of 18 World Cups in history and only seven teams have ever won the title. Italy beat France in a penalty shootout to claim the World Cup 4 years ago.

Check out current World Cup odds at SBG Global.

2010′s World Cup really only has 5 teams that are serious contenders. Spain is loaded with skill and they’ve got an effortless group with Switzerland, Honduras and Chile. With participants like Fernando Torres, David Villa, Xaba and Cesc Fabregas, the Spanish squad has the talent to win their first World Cup wagering. The only problem for Spain is that they may face a tough round of 16 match vs the 2nd place squad from Group G that should be Brazil or Portugal. Brazil is the probable victor of Group G but if they in some way slip and finish 2nd, wouldn’t it be a big surprise to see the 2 faves, Brazil and Spain playing in the round of 16? Brazil has earned the World Cup a total of 5 times and they’re a real risk to win it again this year. They are going to compete in a tough group with Portugal and Ivory Coast but they should not have any trouble progressing to the round of 16 particularly since Ivory Coast probably has no shot now that leading scorer Didier Drogba is out with a personal injury.

England is the third choice in the wagering odds behind Spain and Brazil. They’ve got Wayne Rooney and are nicely coached with Fabio Capello. Whether their goalkeeper is good enough is the question. Argentina is in the mix due to the fact they have the best player on the planet in Lionel Messi. The squad is coached by Diego Maradona and that’s probably more of a bad thing than a good thing. The Netherlands is the other possibility to win the World Cup. They may have their greatest squad since 1988.

Italy looks to be far weaker than they were 4 years ago, despite the fact that they are the defending champion and has won the World Cup odds 4 times, since they have no real scoring threats. Germany has won the title three times nevertheless they are less of risk this year without captain Michael Ballack who is hurt.

France, Portgual and the USA could be interesting choices if you are seeking darkhorse teams. France still has Thierry Henry, Nikolas Anelka, William Gallas as well as Franck Ribery while Portgual has Cristiano Ronaldo. The United States can’t be totally forgotten since it has Tim Howard and Landon Donovan.
